At the end of this post you will find a map of Fuerteventura where I’re marked every town where I recommend staying, places to see in the region and hotel recommendations in Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Corralejo, great area to stay in Fuerteventura<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located 40 km north of the airport, Corralejo is one of the main tourist centers in Fuerteventura. It is a great option to stay if you want to visit the north of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its streets have a mixture of traditional and modern architecture which offer a wide variety of cafes and restaurants, both traditional food and international cuisine. When the night comes, the bars are lively so you can enjoy a lively nightlife. You will also find many shops and supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from visiting the center, walk along the boardwalk and bathe in on of its many beaches, from Corralejo, you’ll be able to visit many other tourist attractions in Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Corralejo you can also get on a ferry to Lobos Island<\/a> and Corralejo Natural Park, two places I recommend visiting in Fuerteventura. Other places nearby are Popcorn Beach, Calderon Hondo Volcano, La Oliva and El Cotillo and its incredible beaches<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for hotels in Corralejo, there are several different options: apartments, resorts, boutique hotels, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recommend Avanti Lifestyle Hotel<\/a>, my hotel of choice for three nights. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is located right in front of Playa la Clavellina, a few meters from a lot of places to eat. The decoration of the hotel is incredibly well cared for. It is in a marine style and the color white predominates with turquoise touches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel has a restaurant and a solarium with a bar, sun loungers and a Jacuzzi. The rooms are very nice, as well as spacious. They have everything you need. My room had a very nice terrace. The staff was also lovely. The breakfast was delicious. I was satisfied!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the hotel is a bit outside of your budget, you should consider staying in Corralejo Lodge<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. El Cotillo, a place with dreamy beaches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Cotillo is another great option to stay in Fuerteventura. It was once a fishing village located in the northwest of the island. This town is not as lively as Corralejo, although it also has an atmosphere and offers a variety of bars and restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the beaches in El Cotillo and its surroundings are beautiful, some ideal for bathing and others perfect for catching waves, which attracts many surf lovers. Another strong point of El Cotillo is its incredible sunsets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for a place with a calm atmosphere near the sea, El Cotillo is the place for you. At Playa La Concha and Playa de Los Lagos you can enjoy relaxing baths, while Piedra Playa is great for a walk, a picnic or watching the sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little further south you’ll find Playa del \u00c1guila also known as Playa de las Escaleras, one of the most beautiful in Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Vaca Azul Restaurant is very famous restaurant worth trying if you stay in El Cotillo or if you visit. I did not have the opportunity to visit it but I have heard very good reviews about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you decide to stay in El Cotillo, I recommend staying in El Hotelito del Cotillo<\/a>, one of the best boutique hotels in Fuerteventura<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel was once an old traditional Majorera house renovated and converted into a charming hotel, inspired by Moroccan riads. It is ideal for couples looking to disconnect. El Hotelito del Cotillo has two patios, a terrace with a jacuzzi, loungers and a relaxation area. It is located in the center of town, near several bars and restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
