One of the most known renovations is the one made by Gaudi in the early 20th century. The houses built around the square all have yellow facades and green shutters, creating a very picturesque scenery. Eat ensaimada (traditional desert) in Ca&#8217;n Joan de s&#8217;Aigo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are several traditional dishes you cannot miss if you visit Palma and one of them is the famous ensaimada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don\u2019t have much of a sweet tooth, therefore, I thought that the ensaimada wouldn\u2019t wow me. I couldn&#8217;t be more wrong. It&#8217;s so good! This sweet desert made with flour, sugar and eggs has a long history and tradition on the island.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most famous places in Palma where you can taste the ensaimada, or order some to take back home, is <a href=\"https:\/\/canjoandesaigo.com\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ca&#8217;n Joan de s&#8217;Aigo<\/a>, a company that have manufactures Mallorcan artisan products for over 300 years. They have a total of three shops in Palma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-7-visit-del-mar-park-one-of-the-best-things-to-do-in-palma-de-mallorca-for-a-day\">7. You will love walking in the park and enjoying the scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-8-bellver-castle\">8. Bellver Castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1120\" height=\"770\" src=\"https:\/\/comeamaviaja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/castillo-bellver-mallorca.jpg\" alt=\"bellver castle\" class=\"wp-image-41115\" style=\"object-fit:cover\" srcset=\"https:\/\/comeamaviaja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/castillo-bellver-mallorca.jpg 1120w, https:\/\/comeamaviaja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/castillo-bellver-mallorca-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/comeamaviaja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/castillo-bellver-mallorca-768x528.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1120px) 100vw, 1120px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Castle in Palma<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bellver Castle is located on the outskirts of the city; however, if you have time, it is a good idea to visit the castle and appreciate the views of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do not have a private vehicle, you can go by taxi, bus or walking. From the historic center, it takes about 40 minutes on foot. There is quite a slope since it is on a hill, therefore, you will have to think carefully if you want to walk to the castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bellver Castle was built in the 14th century by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_II_of_Majorca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">King Jaime II of Mallorca<\/a>. This Gothic-style fortification stands out for being circular, as it is one of the few castles in Europe that has this design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General admission costs \u20ac4. On Sundays it is free. You can visit Bellver Castle from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (until 7:00 p.m. from April to September) and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays and on holidays. Santa Catalina Market is located in the heart of the neighborhood, where you\u2019ll find numerous local products and food stalls where you can have a snack and have a few beers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rest of the streets host a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars.
