Located on the central coast of Peru, Lima has been the capital of Peru since 1535. It is the most modern town in the country. However, a walk through its historic center will take you back in time. In this area of the city you must visit the incredible Plaza de Armas (main square).

Barranco and Miraflores are the best neighborhoods to visit in Lima. You’ll be able to visit incredible urban art, pathways to walk on, viewpoints and many incredible restaurants. The Magical Water Circuit is also one of the best places worth visiting.

The department of Ica, located south of Lima, has several places that I recommend visiting during your trip to Peru. The best place to visit is Huacachina and its incredible oasis. It is a true wonder. The large dunes will leave you speechless. Trust me!

I also recommend visiting Paracas, on the coast of Peru. The landscapes are out of this world. Also, if you book a trip to the Ballestas Islands, you will be able to see many animals. Do you want to live an unforgettable experience? If so, I recommend flying over the Nazca Lines.

AYACUCHO

Ayacucho is not at the top of most people’s list who are panning a trip to Peru. However, if you want to visit one of Peru’s natural wonders, you probably have to visit Ayacucho. I’m talking about the Millpu Natural Pools! You will be mesmerized with this work of nature.

It is also worth taking a walk through the city of Ayacucho. It is not touristic, therefore you can enjoy a more local atmosphere. Do not forget to visit the main market and the main square of Ayacucho.

Cusco is the grand jewel of any trip to Peru. If you visit the country in search of culture and history, this city will quickly become your favorite. The Inca ruins located throughout the city are a real treasure. You can discover them by going on long walks through its cobbled streets full of markets, shops and restaurants.

You can visit several places from Cusco. The most popular place is Machu Picchu, of course. Don’t forget to visit Rainbow Mountain, Humantay Lagoon and Sacred Valley.

Known as the white city of Peru, Arequipa has a special charm. From Arequipa’s Main Square to the Santa Catalina Monastery, the city is full of little treasures. Do not forget to visit the Colca Canyon and hike Ruta del Sillar which are located in the outskirts of the city. You also have numerous volcanoes that you can climb.
