I had never considered traveling to Qatar. However, a few years ago, one my way to Spain from Southeast Asia, I realized that the airline offered a stopover in Doha for several days. We did not want to miss out on the opportunity to visit a new place; therefore, we decided to stay a total of four nights in Doha.
I did not expect much before visiting Doha; however, it did manage to surprise me quite a bit. A multi-day tour of the city will take you back to its interesting past, when Qatar was simply a small fishing and trading hub. Thanks to the discovery of oil in 1940, Doha has now become one of the richest countries in the world today.

Tips for every destination
Doha is the capital of the country and the main destination to visit in Qatar. Doha offers numerous plans for all types of travelers. If you want to immerse yourself in Arabic culture then walk through Doha’s historic center. If you want to learn about the history of the country, you should visit the National Museum of Qatar. If you want to go on a shopping spree, you will have many malls to choose from.
There are some interesting places to visit outside of Doha, such as the Zekreet desert, Khawr al Udayd and Al Zubarah Fort, located in the north of Qatar.
DOHA
Doha is a city with a big contrast between history and the modern world. Some corners will make you travel to the past in an instant while others will blow your mind with how luxurious they are. There is a bit of everything in Doha; therefore, I recommend visiting all kinds of places during your visit in Doha.
The best places to visit in Doha are, Souq Waqif, the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl, the Villaggio Shopping Center and the Katara Mosque. It is also highly advisable to take a day trip to the desert.
