Best areas to stay in Gili Trawangan
One of the best areas to stay in Gili Trawangan is in the main village, located around the pier. That said, if you want to stay in a quiet area, I recommend you move away a little from the pier, as in the areas closest to it there are several bars where parties are organized and the noise can be annoying at night. My recommendation is to look for your hotel a little further north.
Staying on the other coast, on the other side of the island, can also be interesting if you want to enjoy a more unspoiled environment and disconnect from the world. On the west coast of Gili Trawangan, there are not so many services, and getting from the pier with your luggage is a bit more complicated. Once you get settled in the hotel, you can rent a bike and move around the island.

Here are some of the best accommodations in Gili Trawangan. First of all, I recommend the hotel where we stayed.
💡 If you want to get a good night’s sleep, make sure to choose a hotel that’s a bit away from the party area (near the pier) and not too close to a mosque (the call to prayer starts around 4:30 AM). The hotels I recommend in this list are great options. Still, bring some earplugs just in case.
1. Trawangan Dive Resort
We stay at this hotel during our trip to Gili Trawangan. It caught my attention because of its location, in front of the beach. It is also close to the village but away from the bars where there is usually nightlife, so there was no noise at all (neither from the mosque, despite being nearby). We were able to rest very well.
As for the room, we liked it very much. It was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, and the Wi-Fi worked very well (this is always great for us because we usually work while traveling). The bathroom was also great. Our room was one of the cheapest, so I imagine the others are even cooler.
Among the common areas, there are several swimming pools in the accommodation. One of them has a bar inside. I also have to make a special mention of the breakfast, which is very complete. In addition, the coffee served is very good.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that the hotel has a diving school, so if you are going to get a diving certification, this hotel is an even better option to stay in Gili Trawangan.
2. Villa Pine Tree
This hotel is located in the north of Gili Trawangan, a little further inland (by bike, the main means of transport on the island, you reach the beach in a moment).
It is a 3-star hotel and has several types of rooms. You can choose between a poolside double room, a deluxe double room, a deluxe triple room, or a villa with a private pool. All of them seem quite spacious.
The accommodation also has a garden with a swimming pool and a restaurant. Breakfast is served every morning, and a bicycle rental service is available.
3. Flamingo
This hotel is also located in the north of the island, a little more than 5 minutes’ walk from the coast.
It stands out for its unique and striking decoration, which, as you can imagine, has a lot to do with flamingos. Pastel colors reign in the spaces, and images of this bird are everywhere. The use of wood and the amount of plants also stand out.
As for the rooms, you can choose between the deluxe double room, the large double room, the superior double room, and the double room with a balcony.
In addition, the hotel has a very cool outdoor swimming pool and a bar. Breakfast is also served every morning.
4. Jali Resort
We came to this hotel because it is home to one of the most popular restaurants on Gili Trawangan, the Jali Kitchen, where we went for dinner on one of our nights on the island. The food is tasty, and the dishes are plentiful. I also really liked the atmosphere, which was very cozy.
As for the accommodation, it is a 3-star hotel with several double rooms overlooking the pool or the garden. All rooms have a refrigerator. A delicious breakfast is served every morning.
The outdoor pool is quite large and has an elongated shape. I can’t think of a better plan after a long day of sun and salt water than getting in that pool and ordering a mango smoothie at the restaurant bar.
5. PinkCoco
This is one of the most famous hotels to stay in in Gili Trawangan. What stands out most about this accommodation is that everything (or almost everything) is pink. In addition, in the bar located on the beach, you can enjoy one of the most famous sunsets on the island.
It should also be noted that this is an adults-only hotel, which makes it a great choice for couples who want to enjoy a good rest or special moment. You can choose between double rooms of different sizes or suites.
In addition, the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, bar, restaurant, spa treatments, bicycle rental service, and shuttle service. You will be treated like kings!
6. Pearl Sunset Resort
Located on the west coast of the island, which offers the best sunsets, is this 4-star hotel that will fascinate you. The best of all is its location, as it is in front of the beach. In fact, a small piece of coast belongs to the hotel, so you will have a private beach.
In addition, it has a wonderful swimming pool next to the beach, great for a quiet swim while you have a cool drink from the bar. It also has a restaurant and wellness center. An à la carte breakfast is served every morning.
You can choose between double rooms and suites, some of them with views of the coast. The decoration of the facilities and the architecture of the hotel itself are very beautiful and striking.
7. Gili Teak Beach Front Resort
This resort will make you want to stay and live on the island because it has incredible facilities. In addition, the location is exceptional, as it is right in front of the beach, and from this area you will be able to see unforgettable sunsets.
All the spaces of this 4-star hotel are very nice, but its rooms, thanks to the use of wood, are especially cozy. The hotel also has a lovely outdoor swimming pool, fitness area, bar, and restaurant.
If you opt for this hotel in Gili Trawangan, you will enjoy a very quiet stay, as it is far away from the noise. And if you want a bit of action, you can reach the other side of the island in no time by bicycle (they are available for free).
