Where to stay in Huelva
Among the different places to book a hotel in Huelva, the capital itself, Punta Umbria, Aracena, Isla Cristina or El Rocio are great options. Below I give you all the details you need to know.
1. Book a hotel in Huelva City
As I have already mentioned, Huelva is quite small. With just one day, you can get to know the best places to visit in Huelva and see some of the surrounding places, such as Muelle de las Carabelas or the Rabida Monastery. My recommendation is that you stay in the center, although if you have a car and also intend to make day trips to other parts of the province, any area should be fine.
I recommend the following two hotels:
Hotel Exe Tartessos
This was my hotel in Huelva. It has a very good location, less than 400 meters from the city center, on one of the main avenues. On the other hand, it is only 14 minutes from the bus station.
It has 100 well-lit rooms, which offer desks, minibars, Wi-Fi network access, television and air conditioning, as well as rooms adapted to provide comfort and safety to people with disabilities. You can choose a 28m² quadruple room, a 21m² double room with a double bed or the 36m² Junior Suite with a separate living room.
The hotel offers buffet breakfast, private parking (€15 per day), gym, bar, meeting rooms and laundry and dry cleaning service. Does not allow pets. It has a rating of 8.2/10 on Booking and 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. I had a very pleasant stay.
Senator Huelva
This hotel is located in the entrance to the historic quarter, 5 minutes’ walk from Calle Concepción (the city’s main shopping street) and 15 minutes’ drive from the coast. It is located 900 meters away from the train station and 1 kilometer from the bus station.
It has a wide variety of rooms for different needs, ranging from single rooms to rooms with capacity for four people. They have rooms measuring 12m², 16m² and the Junior Suite of 45m². It offers services such as free Wi-Fi, paid parking, a meeting room, bar and room service.
It has a rating of 8.3/10 on Booking and 4/5 on TripAdvisor.

🏥 Remember that it is always very important to purchase the best travel insurance for Spain. I always use and recommend the company Heymondo, where I can offer you a 5% discount on your next travel insurance policy.
2. Aracena, one of the most beautiful towns to stay in Huelva
Aracena is one of the best day trips from Huelva since it is a very charming town in the mountains. It is located in Sierra de Huelva, surrounded by the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. One of the most incredible places you can visit in this Andalusian village is the Gruta de las Maravillas, although you cannot miss its beautiful castle either.
Hotel Convento Aracena & Spa, one of the best hotels in Huelva
It’s a beautiful 17th century convent with an impressive view. You will find it located at the foot of the Castle of Aracena, just over 500 meters from the center. The impeccable structure of the convent, its gardens, the church, the pool, the outdoor pool and the spa are the perfect ingredients for a well-deserved rest.
They offer different rooms: double standard, double choir rooms (located in the choir of the old convent and with a bathtub), special double rooms, double cloister rooms, double rooms with a terrace and, last but not least, the Junior Suite (rooms with brick vaulted ceilings).
If you are wondering where to stay in Huelva, consider this hotel because it offers services such as free parking, a restaurant, suitable facilities for conventions and events, a spa with a hydromassage pool, a waterfall, a jacuzzi and a sauna. All this makes this hotel one of the best charming hotels in Huelva. It has a rating of 9.2/10 on Booking and 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.

3. Stay in El Rocio
El Rocío hosts the most famous festival in Huelva. This small village, belonging to the municipality of Almonte, is located next to Doñana National Park, which makes it a good option if you want to be surrounded by a beautiful natural environment. It is also a great option if you like equestrian practices. You cannot miss the Hermitage of the Virgen del Rocío.
Hotel La Malvasía
It is one of the best hotels in El Rocío, located in front of Charco de la Boca. The rooms are rustic in style and lovingly decorated. They have single rooms, three types of double rooms and the junior suite. Breakfast is included and the hotel also houses a bar and a beautiful interior patio. Pets up to 7kgs are allowed. It has a Booking rating of 9/10 and a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5/5.

💳 To get cash in the local currency of your destination or pay by card, I recommend getting the N26 card. With the free version you can withdraw cash from ATMs with a very low commission and pay in another currency with the best exchange rate and no commissions.
4. Punta Umbria, where to stay in Huelva if you want to be near a beach
Considered one of the best beaches in Huelva, it is also one of the most developed in the area, thus you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. In the 16th century, it was frequently invaded by pirates, which is why the Almenara Tower was built, with the aim of defending the beach from invaders. The tower is a beautiful tourist spot. Punta Umbria is a great option to stay in Huelva if you are looking for beach and relaxation.
Barcelo Punta Umbria Mar
This is a 4-star hotel located just a few steps from the beach. One of the great attractions of this hotel, apart from its incredible location, is the huge outdoor pool with Balinese beds. It offers entertainment and sports activities for children and adults. In the hotel you will find a gym and a wellness center with massage programs, heated pool, sauna and Turkish baths.
It can accommodate between 2 and 4 people in its rooms measuring 30m² and 35m² with sea view, equipped with Wi-Fi network, air conditioning and minibar. They also have a Junior Suite measuring 63m² in size. It has a rating of 8.5/10 on Booking and 4/5 on TripAdvisor.

5. Cristina Island, a peaceful coastal town
Cristina Island is located about 50 kilometers from the capital, on Costa de la Luz. This Huelva town was founded in the 18th century by a community of fishermen. It is also a good option if you are looking for beaches, although unlike Punta Umbría, here you can find a more local atmosphere.
On the other hand, if you stay here, it is highly recommended to take a trip to the Algarve, as it is located very close to this area of Portugal.
Occidental Isla Cristina
It’s a 4-star hotel located 600 meters from the beach. It has different types of double and triple rooms and fully equipped apartments. If you want to reserve some time during your vacation for personal care and rest, you can do so, since the hotel has an outdoor pool, sauna and gym.
There are two bars by the pool and they offer an incredible buffet. They offer activities for children and adults. Booking users have given it an 8.3/10 and TripAdvisor users a 4/5.
