Best places to visit in March: 10 stunning destinations
Ready to discover the best destinations to travel to in March? Let’s start!
1. Chile, nature in its purest form
If you have never visited this South American country, you can take advantage of March to do so. It is the last month of summer in this region. Therefore, you will be able to enjoy all its national parks and cities with a pleasant climate but without excessively intense and oppressive heat. In addition, there are already fewer tourists than in previous months.
In this thin strip of land that occupies more than 4,300 km in length, you will be able to enjoy the most different geographical features. From deserts in the north to glaciers in the south, including lakes and volcanoes, all bordered by the Andes Mountains on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other.
Be sure to visit Santiago de Chile, its picturesque capital, and other tourist cities full of beauty such as Valparaíso. Of course, you can not miss a good hiking route through the Torres del Paine National Park or the Carretera Austral. Nor do you deprive yourself of its gastronomic delicacies where fish is the absolute protagonist.
2. New York, one of the best places to visit in March 2024
New York is a city with high tourist influx throughout the year. However, this city is especially enjoyable at the end of March, when spring begins. The harsh winter is finally over by March and the days are getting longer and the temperatures more pleasant. In addition, the streets are very colorful at this time of the year!
Although it can still be cold, the weather allows you to explore the different neighborhoods of the city on foot. Be sure to visit places like Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho, Williamsburg, and the Bronx. In these last two areas of the city, it is highly recommended to book a guided tour, so you can learn more about its past and present.
There are many things to see and do in New York. From visiting some of its most important museums such as MoMA, attending an NBA game or seeing a show on Broadway to visiting Fifth Avenue. New York is the city that never sleeps!
If you decide to visit New York in March, I recommend you book a place to stay as soon as possible, since the prices are usually quite high and the best places sell out quickly.
3. Australia, a very surprising destination
Another ideal destination to travel to in March is Australia, where autumn begins to appear. The temperatures begin to drop slowly, but not enough to stop you from enjoying the natural beauties that this great island has to offer. Not to mention its attractive fauna!
You can start by visiting its most important cities, both coastal: Sydney, with its emblematic Sydney Opera House building, and Melbourne, with a European style and a lot of atmosphere.
The enormous number of beaches makes it an ideal destination for lovers of the sun and water sports. Get to know, for example, Jervis Bay, with the whitest sand in the world, and Whitehaven Beach, which many consider to be the most beautiful beach on the planet.
In Australia you can also visit countless natural parks such as the Uluru National Park, full of a very special magic. For hiking, nothing beats the Blue Mountains. However, without a doubt, the highlight that you cannot miss on a visit to Australia is the Great Barrier Reef. It will fill your eyes and soul!
4. Vietnam, one of the best places to visit in March
Vietnam is one of the most amazing destinations I have visited. In March the weather conditions are quite good since it is one of the dry months of the year and it is usually sunny throughout the country. In my opinion, Vietnam is one of the best bets if you are looking for a destination to travel to at this time of year.
This charming country in Southeast Asia is characterized by combining highly populated cities, such as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, with natural wonders, such as Halong Bay or Ninh Binh. You will find karstic landscapes, temples, pagodas, beaches, caves, dunes… It is a very complete country!
At first, it can be quite chaotic, its capital Hanoi is very picturesque, therefore, contrary to what other travelers do, you should spend your time. In addition to walking through its streets and pagodas, you can visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the embalmed body of the communist leader, hero of the country’s independence, rests.
Although I am sure that what you will like the most about Vietnam will be its incredible natural landscapes. Do not forget to include in your itinerary the famous Halong Bay, with its more than 1,000 islets. Sapa has incredible rice paddies and many local families. In Tam Coc you will enjoy rivers and beautiful limestone mountains.

There are few places in the world like Galapagos, a place that I was able to visit in 2020 and that completely changed my relationship with the sea and the living creatures that inhabit it. In this archipelago belonging to Ecuador, you will find unique fauna and flora in the world.
During your visit to this incredible natural paradise, you will be able to live with the animals that inhabit its lands and seas with love and respect. Thanks to all the rules and regulations, animal welfare is ensured. Apart from enjoying amazing landscapes, you will be able to see a large number of birds, iguanas, sea lions, sharks, giant tortoises, sea turtles, rays, dolphins… and even penguins!
Although this archipelago has several islands and islets, the main ones are Isabela, Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal. Some of the best things to do in the Galapagos are snorkeling, diving, going to the beach, hiking, and biking.

One of the great attractions of the city is the Danube River, which divides the city into two parts.
